Diamond - Seven Point Five Cut Report
Creative Diversity Network’s (CDN) latest Diamond report is the most detailed and current insight into diversity and inclusion across UK television. This report is the first to include the voices of freelancers across the industry through first-hand accounts of lived experience.
This report covers 18 months from August 2023 to December 2024. CDN is shifting to calendar-year reporting to provide the industry with more timely, comprehensive data to support strategic and financial decision-making around equality, diversity, and inclusion.
This year’s report also includes expanded insights into senior role contributions, a statement from industry DEI Leaders, and highlights of Diamond Data's impact through our industry partnerships and programmes.
Contributions are similar to a programme credit. Each programme contribution is assigned the diversity characteristics of the individual who made that contribution. A single contribution relates to the transmission of a single programme or episode.

We know that those freelancers from lower socio-economic backgrounds, with caring responsibilities, or with vulnerabilities are likely to be disproportionately impacted by the current crisis.
As an industry united, we must urgently address the barriers that hinder career progression and build a culture where freelancers are not only included but supported and valued. Their resilience and creativity have sustained our sector through its most difficult times; now we must ensure that the future of television includes them fully, fairly, and equitably.”
